The right light intensity

Leafy vegetables require a light spectrum of 6 degrees Kelvin, a light that is more blue in color. The lamp of theMars Hydro SP 150 Lighting Package having a substantial blue spectrum, is an optimal lighting solution for this type of crop. With a power of 140 w, this lamp covers 60 cm x 60 cm.

LSunBlaster COMBO T5HO Light Set includes a 6 degree Kelvin lamp, which provides optimal photosynthesis efficiency, is ideal. Lamps can be used SunBlaster T5LED on an existing ballast.

Mini vegetable gardens

There are compact sets of vegetable gardens on the market. They include a base, growing trays, lamps and a reflector. All you have to do is plug them in before starting cultivation operations.

Le SunBlaster Growlight Garden indoor vegetable garden is equipped with 2 lamps of 6 degrees Kelvin, 400 cm long, installed on 60 adjustable supports. A 2 cm x 60 cm base receives a capillary irrigation mat for vegetable garden Growlight Garden (made by Sunblaster) which meets the water needs of plants for approximately 14 days.

For the SunBlaster Growlight Garden indoor micro-vegetable garden, a 45 cm x 20 cm base, which accommodates 4 reusable culture trays and a capillary irrigation system, is topped by an adjustable lamp 30 cm long and 6 degrees Kelvin.

Mini vegetable gardens are a simple and aesthetic approach to growing leafy greens.

Quite similar growing conditions

Leafy vegetables

They are part of the Selection “ Indoor growing system » of the ecoumene gardens.

With its red, pink, white, yellow and orange petioles, and its dark green leaves, the young shoots of Swiss chard Rainbow mix are attractive. They can be harvested 30 days after sowing, which is done broadcast or seed by seed.

Small in size, the Chinese cabbage bok choy Shanghai has broad, short, white stems and dark green blades. 15 cm high, it is sown broadcast or seed by seed, and harvested after 45 days.

In indoor cultivation, we harvest the small curly leaves in shades of red from Red Ursa kale. About 30 days after sowing you can start harvesting the outer leaves. By leaving the center, you can carry out several pickings. We can sow in Plant Best multicell tray, then put them in a pot or sow directly in a 10 cm diameter pot.

The leaves of the red oak leaf lettuce are cut into lobes and a beautiful green-brown marked with a few brown spots on the outside and more red on the inside. We sow broadcast waterproof tray or with drainage, and we put them in a 10 cm pot when the plants have a few leaves. Plants grown in trays are harvested by cutting off all the leaves. For those grown in pots, the outer leaves are removed for several weeks. Sowing at regular intervals ensures a continuous supply. We begin harvesting young leaves 28 days after sowing.

We can also cultivate in the same way the romaine lettuce Parris Island Cos, garden arugula and the various mescluns offered by the ecoumene gardens.

At the red mizuna, the dark wine red leaves are finely cut. They have a slightly peppery taste with accents of mustard. You can broadcast broadcast waterproof tray or with drainage or directly in 10 cm pots. After 20 days, harvest by cutting all the leaves or removing the outer leaves.

Fine herbs

With its beautiful large green leaves, the Genovese basil offers the typical taste of basil. Sown in a small tray, the plants are then transferred to pots 10 cm in diameter. Leaves are taken from the moment the plant is 15 cm tall. This plant requires a temperature of 18 to 27°C.

La Santo coriander has tangy tasting leaves with hints of citrus. THE curly parsley has a characteristic light camphor aroma. These two can be sown seed by seed in 10 cm diameter pots. When the plant is large enough, after about 40 days, leaves can be taken, making sure to leave enough for the plant to regenerate.
