Corn to grind

A staple food of many indigenous peoples of the Americas, grinding corn sports generally very colorful and very hard kernels that produce the best flour or cornmeal. We also make pretty fall decorations.

Harvesting takes place when the silks are brown and crisp. We then peel the ears without detaching the husks. These can be braided or attached to several ears at a time. These bundles are then hung in a dry place away from the sun until the grains crack under pressure.
