Flat-leaved Panicaut – Organic

eryngium planum

4.49$

The flat-leaved Panicaut (eryngium planum) is a remarkable plant commonly identified as a blue thistle. Its Latin name evokes its flat and serrated leaves, characteristics which give it an elegant and unique appearance. This blue thistle invariably attracts a multitude of pollinators such as bees, butterflies and hoverflies, thus contributing to the biodiversity of the garden.

Native to arid and rocky areas, the flat-leaved Panicaut thrives particularly in poor and dry soils. Its ability to thrive in harsh conditions makes it an ideal choice for drier gardens and flower beds requiring a touch of hardiness. The upright stems bear spherical inflorescences of intense blue, adding a splash of bright color and architectural structure to the landscape. Start indoors from mid-April or sow directly in the garden in mid-May.

Due to a low germination rate (50%), we have increased the number of seeds per sachet to 65.
