Head lettuce Big lazy blonde – Organic

Lactuca sativa var. capitata

4.49$
3.82$

Originally from France, this butter lettuce appeared in the seed companies' offerings in 1854. It is also known under the names of Saint-Omer blonde summer lettuce and nonpareille lettuce. Its name describes it well: Gross, because its waistline, when mature, is frankly impressive; Blonde, because of its beautiful pale blond green leaves, tender and tasty; Lazy Girl, quite simply because it takes its time before going to seed, preferring to bask in the summer sun rather than ensuring its offspring!

This beautiful summer lettuce forms a head of good height, compact and heavy. In “Les Plantes Potagères” of 1883, it is described as follows: “This beautiful lettuce is voluminous and productive; it succeeds well and holds the apple perfectly during the heat. » Although it tolerates heat well, it does not tolerate drought. Make sure you water enough to keep the soil cool at all times.

Number of days for harvest: Young leaves: 30 | Mature leaves: 55

Available at the ecoumene only
