Very attractive, the beautiful Italian Dark Lollo Rossa is distinguished by very curly and wavy foliage, predominantly dark red. Its ornamental qualities are such that it is used brilliantly at the edge of flower beds! It has a tasty taste which makes it very desirable for making mixed salads. In addition, its contribution of mineral salts and vitamins A, B, C, D and E makes it a truly appetizing healthy choice.
With a very compact shape, it is ideal for small vegetable gardens and allows fairly dense cultivation, as well as the harvest of a rosette which holds up very well. However, it is a real cutting lettuce which forms new leaves spontaneously after picking. Heat resistant, it is slow to go to seed and excels as summer or fall lettuce. Cut leaves keep for a very long time.
