Caucasian climbing spinach – Organic

Caucasian climbing spinach is certainly a unique and productive addition to the perennial garden! In addition to its ornamental qualities, it offers a double harvest during the summer season: its tender young shoots can be enjoyed raw in salads, while its mature leaves can be cooked like spinach, bringing a wild and nourishing touch to dishes.

A native of spruce and beech forests, it prefers locations in partial shade and thrives in well-drained, humus-rich soil. A trellis or other sturdy support is necessary for this beautiful, hardy climber to reveal its full vigor and beauty, as it can reach up to 3 meters in height.

Seeds need a layering in the cold in a moist substrate to germinate. It is also possible to sow it directly in the garden in the fall so that it undergoes natural stratification with our Quebec winter.
