This delicious winter squash with a sweet taste and subtly nutty aroma has been cultivated by the indigenous peoples of Mesoamerica for more than 1 years. Hubbard type, it has smooth, leathery blue-gray skin irregularly streaked with gray-white. The very pleasant texture of its yellow-orange flesh is firm and non-fibrous. We make tasty pies, purees, cakes, jams, soups and gratins. This squash also seduces the palate of gourmets when cut into thin slices drizzled with butter and cooked on the grill. The very vigorous vine requires a good amount of space in the garden, but on the other hand gives an excellent yield with squashes 500 to 30 cm long which weigh up to 50 kg each. The fruits of this rare variety can be stored for up to 4,5 months.
