Beet Lutz – Organic

Beta vulgaris

4.49$

Adopted immediately by the Amish and Mennonite communities of the United States, this heritage variety native to Germany produces enormous purplish-red roots which, despite their size of up to 15 cm in diameter by 25 cm long, retain a texture tender and sweet taste. The abundant all-green leaves are very popular as boiled vegetables. The roots of this variety, also known as 'Winter Keeper' and 'Lutz Green Leaf', have a very long shelf life. The plants take almost all summer to produce very large roots, but these can be harvested earlier since their taste remains the same.

Number of days for harvest: 75 to 80

Available at the ecoumene only
