The Pimientos de Padrón, emblematic of Spain, are traditionally eaten green, grilled Grilled with a little olive oil and sea salt or marinated as a garnish on a dish. They are also eaten raw, both green and red.
Soft and crispy when they are small, they become more spicy as they get bigger (from 6-8 cm). About one in 20 peppers will get really hot, reaching between 500 and 2000 units on the Scoville scale.
For a good production, plant them in a very sunny and warm location, in soil that drains well. Never water the foliage, pick the fruit often and provide regular fertilization.
