Solanaceae Solanum lycopersicum Annuelle
4.49$
This old variety from Kentucky produces very large yellow beefsteak-type fruits streaked with red. Its name comes from its impressive waistline and its slices with scalloped edges like those of a pineapple.
The magnificent fleshy fruits contain few seeds and their flesh displays a kaleidoscope of red, yellow, orange and pink hues. The flavor of these extraordinary fruits is not to be outdone: rich, sweet and fruity, with a hint of acidity reminiscent of citrus fruits.
The indeterminate plant produces late which gives the fruits an even more intense flavor as the nights become cooler. The vines reach an average length of 1,7 m.
Number of days for harvest: 85 – 95
