Wild chicory Palla Rossa – Organic

Cichorium intybus

4.49$

Originally from the Chioggia region in Italy, this early variety produces pretty, medium-sized round apples formed from carmine red leaves with white veins. These apples, also known as “radicchio”, are harvested at the end of the season – just before the first frosts which they tolerate poorly – or at the stage of young leaves which are delicious in salads. The bright color, crunchy texture and unique, tangy taste of compact 'Palla Rossa' apples are highly sought after for salads, accompanied by a little olive oil, grilled or baked. This variety is also very suitable for growing in containers.

Number of days for harvest: 75

Available at the ecoumene only
