This variety of jet broccoli type cabbage is of Italian origin. It was introduced to America in the late 1880s by immigrants from the Calabria region located in the far south of the country, where it was developed several centuries earlier. It produces compact dark green heads with a fine flavor and tender texture, which are very rich in vitamin C. The apical flower (main head) can measure up to 20 cm in diameter and is followed by a multitude of flowers smaller, but just as tasty, lateral laterals, which appear one after the other until the first frosts. Any leftovers you have will keep very well in the freezer. The plant often grows up to 75 cm in height.
