Catnip (catnip) – Organic
4.49$
Known by various cat-related names (catnip, catnip, catnip), the plant contains nepetalactone which acts as a sex pheromone in cats. The species grows wild in temperate zones of Europe and Asia, but it has become naturalized in several places, notably in the United States where it is sometimes considered undesirable. This perennial plant, easy to grow, prefers sandy and dry soils as well as full sun. Its white or lilac flowers and grayish-green leaves are popular with horticulturists. Catnip is easily propagated by seed, by tracer roots and by layering or cuttings. Commonly used as a medicinal plant in the Middle Ages, it helps digestion, relieves colic, colds and fevers. Catnip essential oil is also an excellent insect repellent comparable to DEET (see a recipe here).
It is suggested to carry out a layering to increase the germination rate.
Number of days for harvest: 80
