Description

  • Its deep roots excel in decompact heavy soilsand its aerial parts buried in the soil provide the latter with a first-rate supply of nitrogen.
  • When it is buried in full flower, its role as a nematicide should not be neglected either, especially on a plot where potatoes have been grown.
  • Because it grows very quickly and does not fear root competition, it covers the ground without delay and protects against erosion. For faster decomposition, it is buried when it is young and still tender.
  • If you want attract pollinatorswith its pretty bright yellow flowers, allow more time for it to decompose in the soil, because it will then be less tender. However, do this before the seeds ripen if you don't want it to reseed happily!
  • We can sow it until end of August, because she tolerates frost.
  • As winter approaches, instead of burying it, leave its stems cut surfaceto provide cover for life in the soil protectress against erosion and cold.
  • In the spring, the earthworms will be encouraged to return to the surface to recover them and will air the earth at the same time. Furthermore, by serving as mulch, weeds will be less abundant.
  • Sowing technique : broadcast, followed by raking to lightly bury the seeds.
  • Seeding rate: 300g/60m2 – 0.6 lb/600 ft2
  • Sowing depth: 0,5 to 1 cm.
